ASOBIBA 秋葉原フィールド 3/31/15

Decided to finally check out one of these ASOBIBA fields, and where better than nerdy mecca Akiba. Flew solo on this op, just like Hoot from Black Hawk Down. Was a nice throw back, just me and my gear on a train.

As you can see, safety area is pretty clean with change rooms, lockers, shooting range and a pretty well stocked shop. Bathrooms were nice and clean also, which makes sense since this is converted office space. Staff was friendly, and the even offered English rules!

My initial impressions: A neat field for beginners or small groups of friends to play around on. We probably had about a dozen players (with some staff mixed in) throughout the day, and that felt about right for the field. 20 people would be the max I'd drop in there. Solid layout that could use a little work, some of the walls felt a little flimsy. Ran a Glock GBB, MP7 and RECCE, and I'd say this field is probably ideal for pistols and sub-guns.

Overall, would go again if the situation was right, like a rain day or if I was trying to introduce some new people to airsoft. Might try another location next time, like the one in Sakuragicho, which should be closer. Get more stamps on this card!
Other things from the day: I forgot my GoPro headband like an idiot again, but luckily I once again MacGyvered a solution with some electrical tape and velcro. Also lucky my 5.11 cap had a loop front panel. Worked pretty well, the video turned out less wobbly than I expected (as always, try and post some soon).

And while I didn't have any OP4 members with me today, got a chance to play with a new friend from the Tokyo Airsoft Group. Always good to meet a new expat player. Here's a pic (faces partially obscured since I didn't ask him if I could put the pic up, and because I have some serious Kim Jong Un face going).

Also, got a nice visit from the Red Bull crew, who sent some nice ladies over to hand us caffeine and keychains with Red Bull facts. Good times all around!
